In his public address after offering bagina to Cauvery here, Yeddyurappa said he has been devastated by what he referred to as recent onslaught on his government  in media and negative publicity.  The Government had fulfiled most of the promises made to the people and listed out a slew of programmes and bold decisions which he said the media did not highlight.

Big plans

The Government has big plans in power sector-the key for growth and development of State. The Cabinet has approved for setting up electricity generating stations to generate up to 15000 MW of power. The vision is for power requirement for another 50 years. “I took bold decision to stop illegal mining and export of State’s resources and banned the export. It posed threat to the survival of the government for which I did not bother”.

He said no government thought of rehabilitating villages in low-lying areas in the State. About 50 per cent of work on building Hosanagars(new layout) for 300 villages has been completed. Yeddyurappa said he won’t complain about Opposition. “The job of opposition is to grab power. I won’t criticise it. But, they must behave as a statesmen,” he slammed at Opposition.

MLA to quit Cong?
