<p>According to Palike officials, the commissioner has directed the BBMP officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) by next month, for the construction of a sedimentation tank beside the water body. </p>.<p>Since the water body has too many inlets, sewage water has been entering the tank, polluting one of the oldest water bodies of the City.<br /><br />With the onset of monsoon, de-silting work in the lake had come to a standstill. <br /><br />Tenders were called to award contracts for cleaning the lake which had accumulated silt upto six feet. At present, silt to a height of two-and-a-half feet which was emanating foul smell in the tank remains to be cleaned, the officials stated. <br /></p>
