Last Updated 20 October 2010, 16:12 IST

Speaking at a programme  ‘Impact on India due to globalisation’ organised by the government arts college’s economics post graduate department in association with Kautilya Economic Forum on organised here, he said whenever people friendly programmes are introduced the country becomes weak as large scale funding is needed to implement such programmes. A national policy should be framed so that the spending power of people is increased.

He said that overall economic development represents national policy and not only micro-level planning. For countries to be helped by globalisation, investment and use of technology should be based on the country’s individual economic needs.

College principal T N Prabhakar, Prof H K Lalithadevi,  G Krishnegowda and others were present.
