Forestry students intensify stir

The students who have been staging protest in front of their college till Tuesday, shifted their venue to Gandhi statue in Ponnampet. On the other hand, the College authorities have stopped cooking in the hostel, following which the students cooked their food by the roadside on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Collegiate Education Director has warned that he would close down the college, as per the University order, if the students continued their stir.

But the students have warned the authorities concerned to stage fast-unto-death stir if their demands were not fulfilled. Taluk Panchayat President Kechamada Saritha Poonaccha visited the students at the protest site and held a discussion with the agitating students.
