The South East Asian countries countries like Singapore, Maldives, Malaysia and Thailand still continue to lure the middle class travellers and first time travellers who have limited budget and time.

Factors like less visa processing time, no documentation hassles and great value for money make these countries most favourable retreats.

An official from makemytrip.com points out that this is the perfect season to visit the South East Asian  countries which has many popular places for leisure trips. With the entry of low cost airlines, tailored itineraries and abundant information available online more Bangaloreans are flying to these countries.

“About 100 to 150 people are travelling everyday for a week’s stay to one of these countries, the official added.

Myriad activities

These countries are vacation friendly because they offer variety of activities that attract  travel enthusiasts. From shopping streets in Singapore to scuba diving in Malaysia and blissful beaches in Thailand there is bit of everything for everyone. 

C T Thomas, Head of Corporate Communication, Cox & Kings, explained that the travel buoyancy has increased by 20 to 25 per cent and is likely to go higher by end of this year.

“With an increase in disposable income many Bangaloreans are opting to spend their holidays abroad,” he commented.

Land of magic

Not just foreign locales, the magic of India continues to seduce travellers specially the niche.

“With improved infrastructure and connectivity to interior and unexplored places has put India high on traveller’s choice,” Says Loveleen, director, Panache, which deals with upper class travellers. Topping the list of luxury destinations in India are Rajasthan, Kerala and Goa.

People from the corporate sector are increasingly travelling to places that offer both entertainment and business opportunities and also less travel time,” says a travel agent, specialising in corporate tours.

He adds countries likes Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, London provide world-class amenities to conduct international conferences and meeting along with leisure-based activities.
