Quincentenary of Vijayanagara Empire in Jan

Addressing the media at Hampi on Sunday, he said to retain the past glory of Vijayanagara Empire which flourished in arts, architecture, literature and the cultural tradition, the State government has decided to hold a grand programme to commemorate the crowning glory of the ‘Golden Age’ witnessed during the regime of Sri Krishnadevaraya the king of Vijayanagara Empire.

The government has decided to launch the programme at Hampi on January 29, 2010.

He said that a sub-committee consisting state Cabinet ministers Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri, Aravind Limbavali, Suresh Kumar and other higher officers of the State government will be formed on 22 July.
