BJP undeterred by expose

According to party sources, three to four more Opposition legislators are likely to resign from their seats in the coming days.

Surprisingly for the BJP, which claims to be “party with a difference,” the release of the CD which purportedly shows BJP MLA Suresh Gowda offering money to JD(S) legislator S R Srinivas to resign from his Assembly membership, has not sent any shock waves down the party. It was business as usual for its top leaders. No review meetings or confabulation were held. The party even launched a counter-attack on the JD(S).

Suresh Gowda was left on his own to defend himself. A party source confirmed that the BJP will continue its strategy of strengthening its position in the Legislative Assembly by reducing the size of the Opposition. The political mudslinging has come to a position of no comebacks. The BJP State Executive meeting scheduled to be held on October 27 and 28 has been postponed indefinitely, sources added.
