Speaking to reporters at Shikaripur on Sunday, he said while the people of the State have given mandate for the BJP, the Congress and the JD(S) attempted to destabilise the government by luring BJP legislators. He alleged that the Opposition parties resorted to hooliganism during the trust vote at Vidhana Soudha.

Referring to H D Kumaraswamy’s statement on en masse resignation, Yeddyurappa said people have elected legislators not to resign. He suggested Kumaraswamy to respect people’s verdict and advised him to shun his inclination to indulge in politics always. “Let the father-son mend their policy of  hankering after power,” he said referring to Kumaraswamy and H D Deve Gowda.

Yeddyurappa said he supported the suggestion of Union Law and Justice minister on ‘strengthening’ the Anti-Defection Law.
