Addressing the large crowd at the Kengeri campus, chief guest Ashok Pai, Psychiatrist and Director, Manasa Educational Foundation, Shimoga, stressed on listening and communication skills. He made it more relevant for the students by presenting real case studies which illustrated various psychological problems. Giving advice to the aspiring psychologists, Ashok added that there are a lot of opportunities for aspiring psychologists in the mental heath profession.

V Prabhu Dev, Director, Surana College PG Centre, stressed upon the memory of an individual and what vital role it plays in an individual's life.

He also stated the social responsibility of individuals and the need for them to connect with the society. “There is a correlation between mental health of people and the health of the society,” he said.

The inauguration was followed by an invocation dance by Meghana G Hegde, a second year MSc Psychology student. This was followed by other events.
