The district administration and Muzrai department set the ball rolling for the rituals- that is observed as a prelude to the Hasanamba festival- when the jewellery box was kept in a specially palanquin and offered pooja before the procession began.

The temple priests brought the specially decorated palanquin to the District Treasury around 11.30 am.

As the jewellery box was kept on the palanquin and offered pooja, the devotees went jubilant praising the Goddess.

The different cultural troupes added colour to the procession. The jewellery was then received at the chief priest’s house in the town.

The deity will be decorated with the jewellery for 10-days when the Hasanamba temple is re-opened.  The temple will be kept open for devotees only 10-days in a year. This time, it will be open from Oct 28.

Thousands of devotees from all across the district and the State are expected to participate in the festivities. After the festivities, the jewellery will be safely deposited in the district treasury once again.
