<p>During the hearing of a petition by the Karnataka Unaided Minority Education Institutions' Association (KUMEIA), K R Shashidhara, the Commissioner for Public Instruction said that a decision has been taken to supply textbooks across the counter on receipt of demand draft. <br /><br />This followed a meeting on August 25, 2010 chaired by Minister for Primary and Secondary Education. <br /><br />Proposal<br /><br />The commissioner further submitted that a proposal by KTBS has been approved by the Government and the former will call for tenders to print the text books for the academic year 2011-12. <br /></p>
