Swine flu: 2 more test positive

Of the 15 samples sent from RGICD on Monday, a 36-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter who landed in Bangalore from New Jersey on June 25, tested positive for H1N1 flu. The mother and daughter had voluntarily come to the Institute to get tested after they showed symptoms.

“We have asked the other two members of the family who travelled with them (father and another daughter) to get screened at the hospital” said hospital authorities. “Their throat swabs will be sent early Wednesday morning to National Institute of Virology (NIV) Pune he said. They have been advised home quarantine.

On Wednesday, a suspected case of H1N1 Flu was quarantined at RGICD.The suspect is a 25 year old male who was sent directly from Bangalore International Airport. Samples of two caretakers have been sent for testing as well.

The four-year-old-girl from Toronto and the 62 year old man who was admitted at Lakeside Hospital on Monday are stable. However the results of a second test are awaited.
