Ban on traffic at B C Road withdrawn

Speaking at a meeting organised in the presence of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Coastal Development Authority Chairman Nagaraj Shetty, he said the ban order has been withdrawn after taking into consideration the public opinion. The road is one of the prime roads in the district. Ircon company was responsible for delaying the construction of service road.

Ircon company Additional General Manager Suresh Kumar said: “We will complete 200 metres service road within seven to 10 days.”

Meanwhile, it has been planned to ban the movement of vehicles during night for 30 days. Nagaraj Shetty directed Mescom, Land Acquisition Officer, BSNL and Tahsildar to solve all the technical problems by Saturday.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel called upon the contractor to complete the work within a month without causing inconvenience to the people.

Sharma said district administration had passed the order on ban realising the depth of the problem. However, the problem arose following the failure of the Ircon company to complete the service road connectivity. Ircon officials assured the complete the work on four-laning by December 31 and open one way for traffic soon. The participants urged the contractors to carry on the work without affecting the drinking water supply and movement of vehicles.
