JOIN US Chikodi Assistant Commissioner P N Ravindra has issued notices to the eight erring officers who will face an enquiry at Raibag tahsildar’s office on Thursday. Complainant Surendra Ugare and 16 others, including advertisement section staff and editor of a vernacular daily have also been asked to be present during the enquiry.
Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer A M Patil, Assistant Engineer Panchayat Raj Engineering, Chikodi K N Hanchinmani, Junior Engineer Panchayat Raj Engineering, Chikodi A S Hosmani, Assistant Executive Engineer, HESCOM, Raibag Shekhar Bahuroopi, Assistant Executive Engineer Harugeri sub-division Rajendra Wakwate, Assistant Director, Agriculture Department, Raibag K S Agasnal, Assistant Executive Engineer, Public works Department, Raibag S A Hiremani, Assistant Executive Engineer, Zilla Panchayat, Raibag S S Patil are questioned with regard to the greeting advertisements published in newspapers during the foreign tour of MLAs Duryodhan Aihole and S B Ghatage. According to Ugare, the act amounted to violation of the Government Service Rules 1966, Rule 5 which states that officials can’t indulge in political campaign.
Besides they had issued the advertisements without the permission of the senior officers, said the complaint filed by Ugare and 20 other advocates with the Governor and the deputy commissioner on September 27 last.
The additional deputy commissioner had directed the assistant commissioner to submit a report after an enquiry.
