IOA to seek IOC advice on HC order

Last Updated 03 November 2010, 18:14 IST

According to IOA secretary, Randhir Singh, the association will review the court orders and will discuss the issue with its international counterpart.

Singh said whatever information he had regarding the decision was based on media reports, and added that the association will take the necessary steps only after it reads the copy of judgement.

Interestingly, a division bench of the Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed the Centre to implement its National Sports Policy under which the upper age limit for the heads of sports federations has been fixed at 70 years.

When asked, whether the flag bearing ceremony will have any effect on India’s ace shooter, Gagan Narang, as he is scheduled to perform the next morning, Sigh said, “He (Narang) has not informed us about any problem, however, if there is any issue it will be looked into.”
