Disqualified MLAs too will meet Gadkari

Last Updated 08 November 2010, 16:39 IST

Following the suit of former minister Balachandra Jarkiholi, the disqualified MLA Anand Asnotikar on Monday said the party can be strengthened in the State only if Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Jagadish Shetter is made the chief minister.

He said all the 17 legislators who rebelled against the party have stood united in their support for Shettar.

Asnotikar told reporters here that they will meet BJP national president Nitin Gadkari on the leadership issue after the Supreme Court gives its verdict which he hopes will be in their favour.

“Congress’ offer”

Reacting to Yeddyurappa’s remarks on blackmail and blackmagic by the party legislators aspiring for a Cabinet berth, he said Yeddyurappa was desperate over securing his position.
He said he will not join the Congress which, he said, has baited him with an offer of a plum post.
