A groovy evening

Last Updated 01 July 2009, 12:57 IST

It rained DJs’ music in the City last week. Posters screaming out the biggest event clogged the

City’s skyline. The Rise of the DJs was all set to rock the City’s music buffs.

Bangalore-based Supreet and Sameer spun some magic before DJ T-Nu took to the console and churned out some good stuff. Spinning and mixing, the boys rocked the City. “Bangalore is considered the pub capital of the country but over the last 10 years, the party scene has taken a beating. Some of these DJs have worked hard to keep it going. It hasn’t been easy on them. This event is about gratifying them not only as a station but more as a City coming together,” said Neil Chauhan, Deputy Marketing Manager Radio One.

Talking about the event, he said, “We have invited 24 popular DJs in the City who have been around for eight odd years. This is their day to get pampered.” On the list of DJ attending were Jasmeet, Vachan, Sean, Clement, Gladwin, Clitus, Sasha, and Hussain. Hosting the event were RJ Pritvi and RJ Anjaan.

A great number of Bangaloreans had, in fact, gathered at the venue displaying support. “They have entertained us all this while. It’s time to facilitate them. When they come and see many people, they’ll feel great,’’ said Justin.

The space was divided into two sections. The indoor section was cordoned off for the VIPs. The outdoor section was open to all. The music ranged from funky, house tunes to old club favourites. DJ Supreet even introduced the crowd to some new beats.
The happy crowds danced to the thumping music. When they took off their dancing shoes they sipped on cocktails or indulged in some great food.
