Last Updated 09 November 2010, 19:12 IST

Bhanu Prakash (26), son of CAR head constable Nanjundaiah and Lakshmi (20), who was working as domestic help in the house of Anjumala, Sub-Inspector, Halasur Gate Women’s Police Station, both residing in the Adugodi police quarters fell in love and eloped recently.
A livid Anjumala lodged a complaint with the Adugodi police that Lakshmi is ‘missing’.

“If the inspector (of the Adugodi police station) cannot provide justice to one of his colleagues, what will he do for the public?” she said, adding that she is aware that the girl has run away with Nanjundaiah’s son.

‘SI ruining me’

Terming the actions of the sub-inspector “torturous”, Nanjundaiah said: “She is using all her influence to ruin me. It has been almost a week since I led a normal life and I cannot handle this anymore.”

He broke down and mutters amid sobs: “Another phone call inquiring about the matter will kill me.” Anjumala insists that she is the one being “troubled and tourtured” by various organisations to withdraw her complaint.

“If at all he (Najundaiah) had any grief over his son’s absence, why has he not lodged a complaint till date? How can he still attend duty while I am dying here at home?” she questions. But, why is she persisting with her complaint when she is aware that the couple have attained the age of marriage?

“I know with whom she has gone and I also know that both them are majors. I just want her back ‘safe’ so I have lodged a missing complaint,” she replies.

Happily married

Adugodi police inspector Shankar Reddy said he has no comments about the “drama” as he describes it.

Sources, however, told Deccan Herald that the lovers got  married in Chikka Tirupati earlier this week and when last heard from, were in marital bliss.
