Rly staff protest

When the accounts officer did not turn up for the meeting employees staged the protest under the South Western Railway Men’s Union (SWRMU).  

SWRMU divisional secretary K V Raghavendra said as per the Railway Board directives, the financial negotiation settlement meeting was not being held regularly.

The meeting was not held for the last six months, he said. The Railway officials, under pressure from the employees, agreed to hold a meeting on October 21, but the accounts officer failed to turn up.

Sources said the Divisional Railway Manager assured the protesters of convening the meeting at the regular interval.
