<p>When the accounts officer did not turn up for the meeting employees staged the protest under the South Western Railway Men’s Union (SWRMU). </p>.<p>SWRMU divisional secretary K V Raghavendra said as per the Railway Board directives, the financial negotiation settlement meeting was not being held regularly. <br /><br />The meeting was not held for the last six months, he said. The Railway officials, under pressure from the employees, agreed to hold a meeting on October 21, but the accounts officer failed to turn up. <br /><br />Sources said the Divisional Railway Manager assured the protesters of convening the meeting at the regular interval.</p>
