YS Srinath-piloted Friendly Bond, trained by Neil Darashah, upset favourites Unleashed and Duchess Of York to ease to victory in the Madras Race Club Trophy over six furlongs, the main event of Saturday’s races here.
Friendly Bond took charge at the straight and blew away his competition to comfortable win the race by two-and-a-half-lengths.
In the other major event of the day Immense did not disappoint the punters as the Arjun Mangalorkar-ward held off a late charge from Criminal Lawyer to clinch the Kempegowda Cup, run over a mile.
Jockey CD Hayes made a bright beginning to his India campaign, bringing home three winners on his first day riding in the Bangalore winter season.
