State has released ` 6 cr for relief measures: MP

Development of National Highway gets Rs 1 crore

Speaking with the presspersons here on Saturday, he said that, of Rs six crore, Rs one crore will be earmarked for repairing the National Highways in the district.

As NH 17 has been handed over to the NHAI for undertaking fourlaning work from Talapady to Nantur and Surathkal to Kundapur, the Central government will not release any amount for the repair of NH 17. Hence, it has been decided to earmark Rs one crore for the National Highway. In, fact, Rs 80 lakh is available with the National Highway to repair the road.

If there was any shortage of funds, then Rs one crore will be released.  He said  Rs 50 lakh has been released to repair interior roads in the district.

The work could not be undertaken owing to the rains. The work on road repair is likely to be completed either by the end of November or by the first week of December, he added.

Support price

Out of five taluk panchayats, BJP is already in power in four taluk panchayats in the district. We want BJP to come to power in all the five taluk panchayats, he added.
