Insignia Jr held for students

Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Dr K N Vijay Prakash who was one of the resource persons of the programme, during his interaction with the students carefully listened to the complaints raised by the children.

Answering to the queries he said that after India’s Independence the roads in Mangalore have not improved much. As per the study only 40 km of road in Mangalore has been actually developed while rest 840 km roads are yet to see proper road construction, he informed.

When the students raised questions on garbage, waste management, unhygienic market, traffic problems, Commissioner asked CIL to co-ordinate the task of picking up a group of students (2 students representing each school) who will be taken on a trip by MCC so as to provide them a first hand experience of solid waste management, bio-gas plants and other systems.

Mangalore City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh who dealt with the subject, career in civil service opined that professionals like engineers and doctors could make effective civil servants.  

Professor from MGM College, Udupi Major Radhakrishna spoke on leadership skills while Canara PU College lecturer Capt Gopinath carried out a session on basic challenges of life.
Child Psychologist K Pushparaj from Kasargod spoke about multiple intelligence.
