Karnataka spikers continue to dominate

Following their 4-1 victory over Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening, the hosts produced a spiriteed display to defeat West Bengal 3-1 to register their second win in as many matches at the Sree Kanteerava stadium.

After winning the closely-contested opening two sets 25-22, 25-23, Karnataka suffered a loss in concentration to surrender the third 14-25.

Things looked pretty tight in the fourth too and just when it appeared the match would go into a decider, the State lads kept their composure in winning the set and contest 25-23.

Meanwhile, 34 players were rejected from their respective squads, including one Karnataka player.
