Last Updated 16 November 2010, 18:01 IST

Speaking to the media on Tuesday after inspecting the subway following an incident of a girl who was rescued from knee-deep water accumulated due to heavy rains on Monday, the Mayor attributed the chaos to errant officers. The Mayor said that he will write to Lokayukta to initiate action against callous officers. No provisions have been made to facilitate the free flow of water in the subway. However, the girl was fortunate to escape from the claws of death, said Mayor.  He also inspected the place beside J K Grounds where underground drainage is overflowing leading to clogging of the water on the middle of the road putting the users into inconvenience.

“ I have already apprised Medical Education and district in-charge Minister S A Ramdas about non-performing officers”, said Mayor. Deputy Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Corporator M J Ravikumar, assistant commissioner Thimmappa accompanied the Mayor.
