Participating in a review meeting held here, he said the onus of transferring the benefits and schemes being implemented by the the Government to the common people lies on them. They would be held responsible for lapses, if any. “The Government has already released the relief package for the damage caused to the crops due to floods. The officials should utilise it properly and pay compensation to the victims,” he said.

The Minister said he would review the progress of various government works being undertaken in the district during his next visit and said he would not tolerate any shoddy works.

He cautioned the officers against their laxity and asked the gram panchayat secretaries to allot particular time on all working days to hear grievances of general public. The benefits of all programmes and schemes must reach the beneficiaries effectively, he said.
“There should be a total transparency in all works undertaken by all the departments as per law”.

Deputy Commissioner Naveen Raj Singh, Superintendent of Police Sharath Chandra, ZP CEO Anjan Kumar were present. ZP president and vice-president stayed away.

Opposition slammed

In Chananarayapatna, he blasted the Opposition leaders for making baseless allegations against Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on the issue of denotification of land.

The Government allotted the land acquired by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board to B Y Raghavendra, MP of Shimoga, as per the government norms.
“When denotification has not caused any loss to the government’s exchequer why the Opposition parties are raking up the issue”, he questioned.

Renukacharya challenged the Opposition parties to win the coming elections to zilla and taluk panchayats instead of wasting time in making allegations on the State government.
The BJP would sweep the coming elections and maintain its winning streak. The party would be strengthened in the district by taking every single party worker into confidence once.

Earlier, he received a memorandum from the villagers of Shettyhalli and Chamadihalli and promised to release the compensation in due consultation with the KMF President G Somashekar Reddy.

BJP leaders Patel Manjunath, Anand Shivappa and others were present.
