Book festival nets Rs 6 cr sales in 6 days

 As many as 170 English book stalls that have been set up as part of the festival have garnered Rs 4 crore, while the 100 Kannada book stalls have registered sale of Rs 4 crore.

“Reading habits, tastes, preferences, dictates what a reader picks at a book stall. However, fiction, biographies, cookbooks and travel books are much sought after,” said a representative from Sapna Book stall. “We have crossed Rs 4 lakh sales in the last six days,” he added.

A representative at the Navakarnataka stall observed that there was a greater demand for Kannada fiction this year. The Festival will be on till November 21. The timings are between 11 am and 9 pm. While the entry fee is Rs 20, school and college students can enter for free on displaying their ID cards.
