JOIN USA news channel, that telecast the tape purported to have been shot on August 11 this year, shows Reddy asking Sharma to influence the destabilisation of the BJP government. Reddy is shown telling Sharma that the time has come for a new Chief Minister and that Sharma was to convey the same to his “higher ups”.
“Whatever, Rs 15 crore is my commitment. Rs 10 crore is yours. You are taking Rs one crore. I will deliver whenever and wherever he wants. It will take me a few hours to deliver the money,” the tape shows Reddy saying.
However, addressing pressmen in Bellary, Reddy described the tape as ‘fabricated with help of computer graphics’ and warned of legal action against the TV channel. The telecast was timed to compound the political confusion, he said, demanding that the channel make it clear who gave it the tape, and who were the people seen in the CD.
