At a meeting of the party workers held here on Monday, leaders unanimously called upon party workers to expose Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s involvement in the land scams, during the campaign for the election to Taluk and Zilla Panchayats. They hinted that former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has obtained documents of two more land scams, which will be made public through media soon.

Addressing party workers, former MLA S L Dharmegowda said, “Yeddyurappa has said that JD(S) would be wiped out from the State. It is BJP, which hijacked elected representatives from other political parties. JD(S) never stooped to such levels.”

“Now BJP leaders are gearing up to launch ‘Operation Kamala’ again for taluk and Zilla Panchayat elections. Hence, JD(S) should issue tickets to contest election only for honest leaders,” he suggested.

Leader Bojegowda said that the BJP government is in trouble because of their own MLAs. “Neither former Prime Minister Deve Gowda nor former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy tried to destabilise the BJP government,” he added.

Yeddyurappa is not capable of taking action against Reddy brothers even when they spoke against him, Bojegowda said adding, “the Chief Minster is dependant on Reddy brothers.”

District President H H Devaraj said that the District Core Committee of JD(S) will send the list of candidates for taluk and Zilla Panchayat elections to the State Committee.
The list will be published after it was approved by the State leaders, he said and warned party workers not to declare themselves as candidates.

Stir in December

Devaraj said that a protest will be organised in the district headquarters against corruption in the State government before December 5.
“BJP and Congress are two sides of the same coin. Hence, the party will fight election without joining hands with any of the parties,” he said.
