Farmer electrocuted in cane field

Guruswamy (40) son of Gurulingappa, resident of Gorur in the taluk is that unfortunate. Gorur is located on the outskirts of the city.

Guruswamy was passing through a sugar cane field belonging to Swamappa of the same village, when he suffered an electric shock and succumbed to it. Swamappa had allegedly drawn power lines on the fence to protect the crop from wild animals.

As the news of Guruswamy’s death spread like a wildfire, villagers staged a road block on Gorur-Mysore road. South police who rushed to the spot made a futile bid to convince them. When the agitators unrelented, they arrested four among them in lead of the agitation. However, they were released on bail later.

A case has been registered.

Husband accused of murder

Following allegations south police have registered a murder case against a man.
Mahadevamma (35) wife of Siddaraju of Dodda Kanya in the taluk was found hanging from the ceiling hook by her neighbour on Tuesday morning. Her parents who refused to accept it, instead lodged a murder complaint against Siddaraju and his family members who are absconding since then.

Man comes under train

An unidentified man was crushed to death under train at the city railway station on Tuesday. A release from railway police stated that the man may have come under Tipu Express Train when it was moving in reverse from washing lane to the station. The deceased is aged between 25 and 30 years, 5’3” feet tall, wheatish complexion, oval faced and is medium built. Relatives if any may contact the police on 2516579.

Body found

N R Police have recovered a male body from C V Road here recently.

A release from the police stated that the deceased who still remains unidentified was found dead by a tailor. He is aged about 28 years, 5 ft tall and has oval face. Relatives may contact police on 2418312/ 512.
