Speaking on the occasion, Kannaiah said special education is proving a blessing for children with necessity. It helps to improve their physical and psychological security as well as their self-confidence, he said.

“As many as six such special resource centres have been opened in the district to provide both physical and mental exercise to the children,” he added.

Education-from-home facility is being provided to children who are unable to attend the regular schools. Volunteers are being selected and trained for this purpose, he explained.
The jatha is organised as an educational tour for the children. They will be taken to different tourist and historic spots in the district, he promised.

The jatha was jointly organised by the district administration, Physically Challenged People’s Welfare Department, Health, Women and Child Welfare Department, Food Supply Department and City Municipal Council, APD Society and Seva in Action Society.
