DDPI to probe burning of vitamin tablets

The tablets were supposed to be distributed among children five years ago. However, due to delay in distribution, the expired medicines were burnt by some officials.

Even though the expiry dated are supposed to be burnt, it is still not known whether they were expiry dated or not, source said.

Investigation

Deputy director, Department of Public Instruction, B A Rajashekar told Deccan Herald that an inquiry would be conducted on this issue and submit a detailed report to the commissioner of the department.
