Man held for selling fake marks cards

The culprit, Madhu, a BSc dropout and resident of Magadi Road, was apprehended At Seshadripuram, when he came to collect duplicate seals and rubber stamps of BU from a shop there.

Madhu’s shady deals came to light when he contacted a stationery shop owner for making a fake rubber stamp of the Registrar Evaluation of Bangalore University. The shop owner promptly informed the police.

Madhu used to contact failed students of Bangalore University and promise them fake marks cards by charging around Rs 3,000 apiece. He would first collect genuine marks cards from gullible students and forge it with good marks, signature and seal of the officials concerned.

Police have also seized nearly 60 to 70 documents. “We suspect the involvement of some BU officials in the case,” said a police officer.

Cop robbed

Two eunuchs robbed a police constable of his gold ring on Tuesday night near Sumanahalli junction in Kamakshipalya police limits on Tuesday.

The incident took place at Hegganahalli on Magadi Road when the victim Murthy, who is working at DG’s office, was returning home on his bike.

The eunuchs accosted him and fled after snatching his gold ring. Murthy lodged a complaint with Kamakshipalya police.
