The incident happened late on Wednesday while the jawan was arrested on Thursday.
“A jawan belonging to the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Nagaland, gunned down his immediate superior and another constable of the state armed police on Wednesday night. The jawan was arrested on Thursday,” police said.
The trouble started after the Naga constable fired two rounds in the air at night. On hearing the sound, his superior officer rushed out and wanted to know the reason behind the firing. “But a heated altercation broke out. The Naga jawan fired at the inspector, who was in-charge of the company, killing him on the spot,” police said.
