Dacoits raid three houses in K R Nagar

The dacoits who had concealed their identities wearing masks first broke into  the house of Suresh in P&T Colony and escaped with 60 grams of gold ornaments, 30 grams of silver and ` 10,000 in cash.

Suresh who tried to fight them had to face their ire when one among them retaliated leaving him injured. Rathnakar who was staying nearby became the second victim as they robbed him with gold ornaments weighing 30 grams. He also had to suffer a blow or two. Similarly, the team raided the house of Manjegowda in Siddalingeshwara layout and made away with a booty of gold.

However, they didn’t attack any of the inmates there.According to the victims, the assailants were in the age group of 25 to 30 years and were wearing knickers, conversing in Kannada, Telugu and Tamil languages at that time.

On receipt of information, Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, A S N Murthy, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mysore circle) Jagadeesh, Police Inspector Venkataswamy, Circle Police Inspector S N Sandeshkumar, Sub- Inspector Anilkumar visited the spots on Friday.

Speaking to media, the IGP promised to reach the culprits soon as they were working out on some clues.

However, the residents cursed the authorities for not strengthening the existing force at Town Police Station. They came down heavily upon the police department for not taking any action though the town is hit by a series of burglaries.

Town Police have registered a case and investigations are on.
