What made this fest stand apart from the usual college fests was that each event was infused with scientific concepts including dance fillers.

The celebration began with an invocation by Dhwani, the college prayer group.  To mark the beginning of the fest, the traditional lamp was lit by B T Venkatesh, Principal, Jain College, Jayanagar along with other guests.

The inaugural event was Sci-Vista, a contemporary dance competition where the teams challenged each other through their dances using scientific concepts, ideas and costumes.  Pulsar Mode, the quiz show of the day was a matchless blend of general and scientific knowledge.

The participants from various colleges put their knowledge to test and tried their best to grab the coveted trophy of Pulsar Mode.

Since the theme of the fest was Galaxy, most of the questions at the quiz contest were based on it.  Students debated on the topic ‘Relocation of tribals for the sake of wildlife conservation’ in Wrangle Traction.  After this event, a group discussion was held to analyse the knowledge and communication skills of the contestants.

The event was an effort to sensitise young minds on the current social issues.  The dance fillers enthralled the crowd and the participants were graceful.  Roshani and team danced for Jiya Jale Jaan Jale and Amrutha and Kavyashri sang Krishna Nee Begane Baro of Colonial Cousins.  Another interesting event Cue Bolt or the dumb charades saw exchanging of silent messages on scientific ideas.  On the whole, the festival was a huge success with more than 300 students from across 25 colleges participating in several events.

“Though the festival is all about science, we have tried our best to make it entertaining for the audience by using popular mediums like a quiz programme, dances and songs to convey scientific ideas. And it worked out really well,” says Spoorthi, one of the students.
