Staging a dharna at the proposed layout site, farmers urged the government to shelve the project as it was ‘practically impossible’.

A major portion of the land acquired by the Bangalore Development Authority has been denotified. It is not possible to develop a layout on the small scattered parcels of land. “Let them return our land,” Nagaraj, a farmer from Jakkur said.

Sudhakar Reddy, another farmer, alleged that while the government declared the work would be stopped, the BDA continued with the acquisition.

Hasiru Sene working president Kodihalli Chandrashekhar said a march to Vidhana Soudha will be launched on December 9 demanding the Chief Minister to restrict activities of the BDA and the KIADB.
