From the 800 eligible students, nearly 200 candidates have been placed in reputed companies. Right now, however, there is no recruitment process happening due to the semester exams and the next session will commence from January.

Prof Sridhar, the dean of training and placement, is happy with the overwhelming response from the recruiters as well as from the students. “Our students are doing a great job. When compared to last year, high-paying companies are approaching us in great numbers. The process started in the last week of August and one-fourth of the eligible students are already placed,” he says proudly.

B S Anvesh, a final year student of the mechanical branch, is on cloud nine as he got placed in a mechanical company. He was selected in pool campus which was held at MVIT. “I think, it is a bumper offer for any fresher to kickstart his or her career, with this high-paying job,” he says. He adds, “As far as placement preparations are concerned, I didn’t do much. As I was good at basic concepts, I faced the technical round easily. Aptitude was quite challenging, but I was able to crack it. Language was never a problem for me, hence the interview round went well,” he says. Now he is expecting his appointment letter.

Prashanth R from the computer science branch is placed in a leading software company. His strong command over the fundamental aspects of the subject helped him crack the test.

“While attending any campus tests, I mainly concentrated on ‘C’ programming and aptitude. Timely inputs from my brother as well as from my seniors helped me a lot,” he informs and adds, “My seniors had arranged ‘buddies session’, a training class for us once in a week. In that, they conducted mock tests and guided us in a right way.”

Though Deepak, an electrical and electronics student, has been placed in a company, he is trying his luck in other firms too.

“We have a provision of getting a job in another company. So, my preparations are on and I feel strong command over the subject and good understanding of basic concepts work as winning factors. I refer ‘Quantitative Aptitude’ by R S Aggarwal which helps a lot in cracking aptitude tests,” he gushes.

After writing a couple of exams, Abhinand K R, a student from the information science, got placed in a reputed company. Not satisfied with the present job offer, he is trying his luck off campus also.

“In clearing the exams, our seniors helped us a lot by providing various study materials and sample questions. Even after class hours, my friends and I sat together and solved the question papers. All our faculty members and placement officers are supportive and e-mail us regularly with latest updates about the placement process,” he sums up.
