The students of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering love to upgrade their wardrobe and stay in vogue with the latest styles. The girls prefer to wear slim-fit jeans and different kinds of tops such as balloon, tank, printed and t-shirts.

Boys like to stay cool with checked and striped shirts, t-shirts with round necks which they team with slim-fit jeans.

With winter setting in, students are keen to look good yet stay warm.
“This is the time to pull out all those sweaters and pullovers. With jeans, we
prefer to wear pullovers of different kinds like hooded, turtle-neck and stylish sweaters,” says Ashritha, one of the students.

These style-conscious girls personalise their outfits with branded bags and footwear they buy from the streets. “These days, floaters and flats are in vogue. But here, one can see silhouettes, gladiators and heels. Silhouettes and flats are picked from the streets. And each one of us has at least five pairs of flats and pumps in different colours and style,” says Kavya Rao, another student.

The students follow a style mantra. “Highlighting dark outfits with bright accessories is our fashion statement. Actually, we use a lot of funky things like fancy earrings, jelly and friendship bracelets. Whatever we wear, we accessorise them in a different way,” says Arinjita.

The boys sport different hairstyles and make all effort to match their footwear with the clothes. “There are some trendy hairstyles one gets to see on the campus like crest, spikes, out-of-bed look and the army look. We like to wear big watches or heavy bracelets. The footwear too has its variations. Some students like canvas shoes which have multi-coloured laces. Floaters, denim shoes are also preferred by many,” says Najam Kapoor, a second year engineering student.

He adds, “We cannot choose a particular thing as a common trend as it is a huge campus. And the campus is a miniature world in itself.”
