RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal, social activists Aruna Roy, Sekhar Singh, Rajendra Singh, Madhu Kishwar, retired bureaucrat Harsh Mander and 19 others in an application said they would like to be added as respondents as they would like to be punished for contempt of court along with Bhushan for the Tehelka interview in which he has alleged corruption in the judiciary.

They said: "(We) are concerned about initiation of the contempt proceedings against the respondent for exercising his "freedom of speech" without fear and censorship in raising the issues of misconduct and corruption in the judiciary."

The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted another opportunity to Bhushan to tender an apology on his alleged statement to the magazine on Chief Justice S H Kapadia writing the judgment in the Vedanta mining case.
