'Aasare' plans special training for slow learners

This was announced by Medical Education and District-In-Charge Minister S A Ramdas, after inaugurating the newly started Mysore District Aided Primary School Teachers Welfare Association, here recently. He said that it was a shame that Mysore district is in 24th position in SSLC results.

Exclaiming that high school teachers were not the only ones responsible to be blamed for the dismal performance, as the students come to high school after studying for seven years at the primary level.

Such a situation would crop up if the primary teachers fail to impart a quality education, he added.

He said the NGO had been distributing SSLC guides to the SSLC students of the entire Krishnaraja Constituency free of cost with a view to improving the SSLC percentage.
A meeting of head masters of all the schools of the district is convened on December 14 to hold a discussion regarding  the special training for slow learners for two months.

After the training, a preliminary examination would be conducted. Those who fail in that examination would be brought to the city with the consent of their parents and would be trained by special guides. Then the students would be made ready to face the annual examination.

Ramdas called upon the newly floated organisation to take care of the welfare of teachers as well as to ensure a better future for the students. There is a great responsibility on the part of the teachers to mould the students as the useful citizens of the nation.

Hosamutt Seer Sri Chidananda, MLCs G Madhusudhan and Siddaraju, BEOs Raghunandan, Karigowda, D V Kanth, Javaregowda, CRC Ramaradhya, Association president Basavaraju, Aided School Teachers Welfare Association State president Prakash, District secretary T S Prakash and others were present.
