Rajashekhar Murthy laid to rest

The last rites were conducted as per Veerashaiva traditions, under the leadership of Suttur seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami. The departed leader was given a three-round gun salute.

Earlier, the body arrived in Chamarajanagar from Bangalore via Mysore. Later, it was taken to Mariyala.

Tributes paid

People lined up on either sides of the roads to pay their last respects. District incharge Minister M P Renukacharya and Minister V Somanna represented the government at the funeral and offered floral tributes to the departed leader. Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah, MP R Dhruvanarayan, MLA V Sreenivasa Prasad and others were present.
