Extra forces have been deployed at the Bangalore City railway station, Bangalore International Airport, bus terminals, malls and religious places.

Hostels not spared

Surprise checks are being conducted at some hotels and lodges. This time around, PG accommodations, hostels, home stays and service apartments are also under the scanner. Sources said that since Indian Mujahideen (IM) have already claimed responsibility for the blast via e-mails and have ‘attributed’ the attack to the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992, the police are tracking the already identified sleeper cells, especially in the City.

A number of organisations and their members are also being watched. Central intelligence agencies have shared with the State police some information. However, there is no indication of any terrorists sneaking into the southern States.

The State police, are not taking any chances, however.  In order to avert any untoward incidents, they are keeping a tight vigil and are co-ordinating with other security agencies, sources said.
