'Set up trauma care centres'

Disposing of a public interest litigation filed by Pradeep Desai, the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice A S Bopanna directed the State to establish three super-speciality trauma centres in district hospitals annually.

The Court has also directed the State to speed up the process of establishing  trauma centres in five district hospitals, so that the centres start functioning within one year.

When the State submitted that the construction of trauma care centres was under progress at Chitradurga, Hassan, Tumkur, Sira and Haveri, the Bench directed the government to ensure that the the centres are operational within a year.
