Vehicles worth `five lakh recovered

Two among three accused were earlier residing in Mysore; several pending cases solved

The accused have been identified as Syed Suhail, aged 24 years and resident of Shivajinagar, Bangalore, Akram Pasha alias Pasha, 25, Rajiv Nagar, Mysore and Zubair alias Zabeer, 35, Tanny Road, Bangalore. The first and third accused in the case were previously residing at Basaveshwara Road and Madhwachar Road in K R Mohalla here respectively.

The trio fell in police net when they were moving in a suspicious manner near Rajendra Kalamandira on Ramanuja road. Apart from KR, a few among the vehicles recovered were lifted in Devaraja, Lashkar and other police stations here.

The police team that cracked the case was led by Inspector B S Srinivas, consisting of Sub-inspectors Niranjanegowda and L Srinivas among others.

RI for assault

A man convicted of assault has been sentenced to two years rigorous imprisonment by a court here.

District Principal and Sessions Court Judge H P Sandesh awarded the jail term, besides imposing a fine of ` 10,000 on Ramegowda alias Jayaramegowda held guilty of assault. A native of Gandhanahalli in Saligrama Police Station’s limits in the district, Ramegowda had attacked Amavasegowda of the same village in 2008. The accused had lent ` 2,000 to the latter and had been forcing him to repay. However, when Amavasegowda failed to clear the loan, Jayaramegowa attacked him with cudgel injuring him seriously.

The court also ordered Jayaramegowda to undergo additional imprisonment of six months if he fails to repay the fine amount in lieu there of. Of the fine amount, the court has ordered to pay ` 8,000 to Amavasegowda, according to a release by public prosecutor Sudeep Bangera.

Druggist held

A druggist has been arrested on the charges of illegal gas refilling on Friday.
According to Nazarbad police, Govind who is running a medical store at Vidyanagar here was indulge in the activity when the cops raided the shop. Two LPG cylinders have also been confiscated. Interestingly, it’s for the third time Govind has fell in the net of law.

Earlier in 2006 he had been arrested on same charges and nearly 40 cylinders had been seized. The second time he came under scanner was during the raid of Food and Civil Supplies Department.

A case has been registered.

Chain snatched

An elderly woman was relieved of a gold chain worth ` 30,000 here on Friday. Three youth who came triple riding a motorcycle robbed Ramamani Murthy near 16th cross, Gokulam afternoon. She was walking towards her home from a hospital when the incident occurred.

Jayalakshmipuram police have registered a case.
