<p>“There is plenty of scope for improvement,” said Akbar on the sidelines of the Amaron Karting Challenge in Bangalore on Sunday. <br /><br />“See, there’s not going to be a sudden increase in the number of drivers, but there will be more sponsors willing to come and wet their beaks in motor sports.”<br /><br />Touted as one of India’s most promising drivers, Armaan Ebrahim -- Akbar’s son -- has been tipped to land a spot in the 2011 GP2 series after a good show in the Formula Two championship in 2009, but Akbar was unsure of that shaping up. <br /><br />“The tests cost us a lot. To take part in the event it’s going to be a lot more money. If GP2 does not work out, I’m going to ask Armaan to take up the Indylights (precursor to the Indy500). <br /><br />“There is a lot of market for Indian drivers in the US, and plus, he will be the first Indian driver in the Indy500.That for him is a step in the right direction,” added the driver-turned-coach who is also the president of Meco Motorsport .</p>
