HC notice to State, SEC on election code

In a petition, BBMP Shivanagar corporator Manjunath, Ramanagar councillor Chandrashekar and Nagesh from Bangalore Rural District, have contended that since the elections were being held for zilla and taluk panchayats, the code of conduct should not be extended to the corporation areas. They sought directions to the SEC in this regard.

Additional advocate general K M Natraj submitted that even the government wanted the code of conduct to be removed from the urban areas. He said the state government was also considering filing a petition in this regard.
