The People’s Democratic Party leader, lodged in the Parappana Agrahara prisons for the past four months, has claimed that his presence is no more required as the case has been committed for trial to the sessions court.

The criminal revision petition says that no prima facie case has been made against him and the prosecution has failed to gather evidence to establish his involvement in the blasts. He has said that with lights being on for round-the-clock surveillance and non-availability of medical facilities, his health was failing and he should be released at the earliest.

Alleging that evidence against him has been manipulated, Madani has stated that his name does not find a place in the FIR or the first two charge sheets. The Fast Track Court has dismissed the bail plea on Sept 13 citing security concerns. The court observed that there was prima facie case against Madani.
