Keeping the pleas of parents and students studying at BBMP schools in mind, the decision was taken on Tuesday at the Standing Committee meeting to present the proposal at the next meeting of the Council.
“The move is to ensure that the 5,000 students who are in their final and first year pre-university will have an opportunity to study at a lesser fee in the next two years,” said Committee Chairman B V Ganesh.
Meanwhile, the Committee has also confirmed the recommendation of reserving 10 percent of ward funds for the development of Palike schools which come under each ward.
