Four arrested with 1 kg heroin

The arrested have been identified as Anil Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Taj Mohammed and Sageer Khan, police said.

Anil, Sandeep and Taj were apprehended from Sultanpuri this afternoon while Khan was arrested from Mustafabad, Arun Kampani, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), said.

"Khan told us that he had received supply of heroin from Guddu, his distant relative, and one Babloo, a resident of Mustafabad," Kampani said, adding Babloo and Guddu were partners in the illegal drug trade and both of them used to receive drugs from Bareilli and Barabanki.

Mohammed had met Guddu about six months ago who allegedly lured him into the trade, he said.

"Mohammed motivated Anil Kumar and Sandeep Kumar to work as his carriers and to search for possible buyers for drugs. Initially Guddu would give the drug directly to Mohammed.

"But later, he started giving drug supply through Khan. Mohammed used to keep drugs in the houses of Anil and Sandeep," Kampani said.
