All these came to light during the surprise round of the city undertaken by Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, Mysore City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner K S Raykar, Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner P C Jayanna, MUDA Secretary Vidyakumari, City Planning Joint Director M N Kumar and others, on Saturday. The DC who saw the dhobi ghat at Saraswathipuram, directed the MCC to develop it. From there, the team of officers visited Bogadi 2nd stage and saw the encroachment of government land.

They saw a property belonging to MUDA which was fenced by a person and raised a garden. He directed the authorities concerned to raze all the illegal places of worship after the ZP/ TP polls.

Appreciation

He also appreciated members of some illegal temples who had voluntarily cleared the encroached portion before the district administration could act.

The officers were shocked to see the construction of a two-storeyed building right on the MCC property near Basaveshwara Circle in Hebbal. He asked Jayanna to file a criminal case against the officials for keeping quiet and also against the owner for encroaching upon the government property.

The DC was surprised to see a series of encroachments wherever he visited and directed the officials concerned to take steps for the removal of such illegal structures.
All the officials went in a single vehicle, after parking their vehicles near the deputy commissioner’s office.
